Embedded system Lab sponsored by B&R:
About Lab: The B&R Automation Lab is an industry-supported training and research facility equipped with B&R’s ETA (Evaluation and Training for Automation) Kit. The lab is designed to give students hands-on experience with real industrial automation hardware used in modern factories.
MMCOE B&R sponsored lab provides
- PLC Programming – Students learn to program and control machines using B&R PLCs in Automation Studio.
- Sensors & Actuators – The ETA kit includes real sensors, switches, motors, and actuators for practical experiments.
- HMI & SCADA Basics – The lab allows students to build operator interfaces (panels/screens) used in industry.
- Motion Control (if included) – Servo motor and drive modules help students understand robotics and machine movement.
- Industrial Networking – Practice with fieldbus networks like POWERLINK.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics – Students learn real-world fault detection and machine maintenance skills.
Features:
The B&R Automation Lab serves as a hands-on environment where students and researchers can work with real industrial-grade automation components. The ETA Kit includes programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial PCs, I/O modules, servo drives, networking components, and the Automation Studio software environment, enabling practical training in machine control, motion control, safety systems, and industrial communication technologies.
