M.Tech in Power Electronics and Drives is a postgraduate program that delves into advanced technologies and applications of power electronics systems. This course focuses on the design, control, and operation of electrical machines and drives using power semiconductor devices. Students explore advanced topics of power converters, electric drives, control systems, renewable energy integration, and energy-efficient technologies. Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
- PEO1: Graduates will be engineering practitioners and leaders, who would help solve industry‘s technological problems.
- PEO2: Graduates will be engineering professionals, innovators or entrepreneurs engaged in Technology development, technology deployment, or engineering system implementation in industry.
- PEO3:Graduates will function in their profession with social awareness, responsibility and interact with their peers in other disciplines in industry, society and contribute to the economic growth of the country.
Programme Outcomes (POs)
- An ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems.
- An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document .
- Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.

A post graduate of the Program will demonstrate:
- Apply technical knowledge, skills and analytical ability to design, develop and test power electronic converters and drives using modern tools and technologies.
- Solve the real-world problems in the emerging fields like smart grid, renewable energy interfaces, and electric vehicles and to develop innovative technologies relevant to social, ethical, economic and environmental issues.
- Solve research gaps and provide solutions to socio-economic, and environmental problems.
